The socialism I believe in is everyone working for each other, everyone having a share of the rewards. It's the way I see football, the way I see life. - Bill Shankly

Spirit Of Shankly notes that at the recent EGM held on Saturday 11th July, it was agreed that a protest against the owners would take place at the forthcoming Atletico Madrid game at Anfield on Saturday 8th August.
However, due to a combination of logistical difficulties surrounding the planning of such action and in light of information that the Union has noted in relation to the refinancing by RBS, and in order for the Union to make certain that any action retains the high profile of previous events the protest is to be postponed and will now take place at the Stoke City game on Wednesday 19th August 2009. We will release details in good time of what is planned.
We aim to make the protest as loud and high profile as possible – with that in mind we are seeking approximately 50 volunteers to assist with the planned action. If you are able to offer a couple of hours before the game please contact directaction@spiritofshankly.com for more details of what is envisaged.
