2012 Management Committee elections

This year’s election process will follow the timetable below. The first steps will be to seek nominations for the Committee.  Please use the downloadable nomination form and return by the deadline date.

Once nominations have closed we will open electronic voting, if the number of nominations is more than the number of positions available on the committee. This correspondence will include the 200 word supporting statement provided by nominees.

We will formally ratify the results of the election at the 2012 AGM which will be held on the weekend of the 3rd March 2012 subject to the confirmation of the time and day of the match against Arsenal at home. The venue will be confirmed closer to the date of the AGM.

The election process will only be open to currently active Spirit of Shankly members.

Committee Structure

The Management Committee format will change for 2012 with 15 positions open for election, but with no defined roles. The chair of the Union will be chosen by the newly elected committee. This is to reflect the changing needs of the Union and allow for improved management of Union activities. The focus will be on sub committees around the key areas of the Union’s activities and campaigns which are, but not limited to, The Football Quarter, Credit Union, Ticketing and Travel. We encourage members who wish to take an active role within the Union to put themselves forward for election. Members who are not elected to the Management Committee will have the opportunity to contribute to any of the established sub committees to ensure that the Union has the support it needs to continue growing.
