Interview with John Wheate

Spirit Of Shankly, the Liverpool Supporters' Union, has recently interviewed John Wheate, the lawyer who acted for Michael Shields during his ongoing campaign to be freed from incarceration. John, who gave his time pro-bono, worked alongside Pete Weatherby to ensure Michael's freedom became a reality. He has recently turned down several requests from national media outlets to talk about his role in the Free Michael Shields campaign following last weeks release of Michael, following tireless legal work, and campaigning from the Shields family and friends, and Liverpool fans who have supported the cause since the very beginning.

John accepted our invitation to talk about the campaign and legal battle due to the work put in by the fans, and the Union, in backing Michael's campaign. He talks about the case, and gives an insight to the uphill battle faced to bring about justice for Michael. The interview, once finalised, will be on our site for viewing from next week.
