The Spirit of Shankly welcomes the ending of Steven Cohen’s World Soccer Daily internet radio show and his replacement on the Fox Football Phone-In programme.

This repulsive broadcaster has consistently and without sincere apology, libeled the memory of the Hillsborough victims and their families, and despite being asked to back up his ludicrous claims about both the disaster and the alleged threats against his family he refused to do either.

The North American Supporters’ groups are to be congratulated on mobilising support within the US and beyond and in a successful boycott being organized resulting in Cohen being silenced. It underlines the fact that as a group we can do so much more with organisation, commitment and recognition of our strength in numbers.
