Contact the Supporters' Committee

Given the position of Ian Ayre in wishing to deal only with the Supporters' Committee on our most recent questions and issues, we have contacted all Supporters' Committee members expressing our feelings on his response and our view on what we believe should be our involvement. We are awaiting replies to these emails. In the meantime, given the wishes of Ian Ayre, we would urge all members to contact members of the committee and convey their views and feelings on this issue. An example email that members may wish to use is below, as are the contact details of committee members

Dear XXXX

Recently, the Liverpool Supporters' Union contacted Ian Ayre to discuss recent announcements about ticket price reductions at Newcastle United and Manchester City. Spirit Of Shankly has been at the forefront of this campaign and having met Ian Ayre and Phil Dutton earlier in the year, along with leading national protests for ticket price reductions, they felt it was an ideal time to go back to them and see if there were any further developments in reducing ticket prices. Details of this can be read here  http://www.spiritofshankly.com/news/ian-ayre-response-to-ticket-price-reductions

Ian Ayre's view is that the issues that the union bring up should be brought up via the Supporters' Committee they established. I believe that on issues such as these, the views of the union should be recognised and heard - not pointed in the direction of someone else to feed them in. I'd ask that you seek LFC recognise the leading role the union has played in the campaign for reduced ticket prices and engages with them directly on this issue.

I'd also like you to raise with the club at your next meeting, which I understand relates to Away Fans, the following questions:

1.Will LFC be taking up Newcastle United’s offer of a reciprocal arrangement to charge away fans £20? (We appreciate our match at Newcastle will come before such an agreement but a commitment to do so would show willingness on the part of the club)

2.Will LFC be looking to offer the same reciprocal arrangement to other clubs?

3.Will LFC be looking at any other initiatives to reduce ticket prices for home and away supporters? It would be a great gesture if the club could match the £200,000 from the Premier League and the players as a collective too

I look forward to your response and thank you for your time

Regards

XXXX
