Partners wins award for SOS collaboration

Partners Credit Union has been awarded the National Credit Union Award for Excellence in Innovation in recognition of its innovative work with the Spirit of Shankly supporters' union.
Partners 'Spirit of Shankly Division' was established in 2011 in order to enable SOS members to save towards a share in a supporters' stake in Liverpool FC and also to save towards expenses such as season tickets. In addition to these savings facilities, the credit union has introduced low cost season ticket loans for SOS members, enabling Liverpool supporters to spread the cost of their season ticket while avoiding expensive credit card fees.
Tracey Fletcher, Chief Executive of Partners Credit Union, commented "The Judges were very impressed with our work with SOS and think there should be more of this kind of collaboration between football supporters' groups and credit unions happening around the Country."
Spirit of Shankly is proud to be associated with Partners Credit Union and we hope that, with appropriate legislation now in place, we will shortly be able to offer credit union services to SOS members throughout the country.
