Over 250,000 people are expected to descend on Liverpool during the weekend, Stanley Park Festival allows prime viewing spots to see the 30 foot Little Girl and the 50 foot Uncle giant on their doorstep.
Much of the festival’s focus is on food and drink, celebrating local, regional and international cuisine. Guests in the food and drink quarter can enjoy delicacies from a wide range of stalls including crepes, hog roast, a BBQ and sweet treats. For the more adventurous exotic foods such as ostrich will be available.
On the Sunday live football will be shown on a big screen, in conjunction with The Football Quarter. The Manchester United versus Everton football match will be live from 12.30pm (Entry fee applies). Red or blue, football lovers can enjoy the festival and their beloved team.
Stanley Park is situated in between Liverpool Football Club and Everton Football Club and underwent a massive restoration project and reopening in 2009. The festival is to coincide with the city’s Titanic commemoration, centering on the arrival of the Sea Odyssey giants from Nantes. This is the first big event in the park and it is hoped that success will lead to many more events being held in Stanley Park.
